ANZMI-WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE?

On this page I am going to refute each and every one of the defamatory claims made on ANZMI website.  I have tried many times to have this offending material removed, either by emailing them directly (without the courtesy of a reply) or by appealing to Victorian State Branch (Anzac House) to take action to remove it.  On 26 June 2008 I received written assurances from Anzac House CEO Mike Annett that they had been QUOTE using their best endeavours to remove the offending material END OF QUOTE  (see Annex A).  I thought this was quite an admission, because it suggested that Anzac House happily co-existed with this mob, knew who they were and obviously had some influence.  Who knows, probably even fed them the material…

Ken Swincer, who was a member of Healesville RSL, once boasted to me that two senior executives of Victorian RSL State Branch and himself were members of ANZMI. This agrees with the e-mail from Anzac House CEO, already sighted at Annex A, suggesting that link.  He also boasted that ANZMI was not only used to expose military imposters, but also against any RSL members who dared to oppose or cause troubles for RSL leadership .

On the right hand side of this page under Blog Archives you will find some comments that I found in forums on the internet, which paint a very bleak view of ANZMI.

………And now to Page 1 of 13 of ANZMI website/HALIM (Sam) Asim

Paragraph 2 reads: “From 13 Jan 1992 to 30 Nov 1994 and again from 15 May 1995 to 14 May 1997 he was granted leave without pay (LWOP) to work as a consultant at the Joint Technical Language School….” BUT THE REALITY IS QUITE DIFFERENT:

Annex B  Letter of Introduction dated 11 May 1995 from Squadron Leader JE Anderson of Australian Defence Staff/Australian High Commission London clearly states: “Sergeant Halim is a permanent salaried member of the Australian Defence Force and is posted to the United Kingdom for a period of 2 years”…

Annex B Unclassified Message dated  9 May 1995 from DEFAIR DGPERS: “Sgt A Halim is posted to ADS-London..for duty Joint Technical Language School”

Annex B Letter dated 11 May 1995 from Department of Defence (Air Force Office) titled “Allowances payable as a result of an overseas posting” and addressed to myself.

In paragraph 2 and 3 the author shows their complete ignorance when referring to British Communciations Headquarters and BCHQ Cheltenham.   The correct name for this organisation is GCHQ and the initials stand for Government Communications Headquarters.

Paragraph 4 alleges that I worked as an interpreter to an Army Major but my position was Assistant Military Adviser to the Australian Embassy Kuwait Office, for which I was field promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant and during which time I deployed with SAS on Faylaka Island (Annex C refers/Letter of Introduction dated 7 March 1998 from Alick Longhurst Australian Embassy.  See also Order LOD007 dated Mar 98.)

Paragraph 5, quoting a newspaper article which states I “was asked to put aside clerical duties and help out”  goes on to state that I was “a Clerk who was deployed as an Arabic speaking interpreter from time to time” but AFPEMS Personal Record Extract dated 11 April 1997 (Annex D) shows quite clearly that the majority of my Air Force career was NOT spent as a Clerk.

MY AIR FORCE SERVICE – for anyone wishing to see my credentials, please see Testimonial for Service signed by Air Commodore KN Birrer at Annex E which includes the following:

Posting to the Gulf in 1998 in support of the Special Air Services Regiment and coalition forces(ACTUAL)- compared to ANZMI’s “Seven weeks deployment as interpreter to Army Major in Kuwait” (LIES)

Posting as a language consultant with British Intelligence from 1991 to 1995 (ACTUAL) AND Posting to the Australian High Commission in London (ACTUAL) compared to ANZMI’s “Four years secondment on Leave without pay..”(LIES)

ANZMI claims that in total my clerical duties “would have involved eighteen of my twenty three years service” but Annex D has already proven this not to be the case.

Nomination for the Office of Committee form is not even admissible – RSL National Headquarters admitted that this form was obsolete and should never have carried the words “Qualifying Service” on it.  This form has since been withdrawn from all RSLs.

Pages 4 and 5: Local Council election ad and How to Vote poster do not carry the statement “Authorised By Sam Halim”.  National Tribunal found that it was impossible to establish that I was responsible for any electoral posters.

Pages 6, 7 and 8

ANZMI claims that “Several members decided that as Club President he should wear his medals on ANZAC Day and after reading his blurbs and considerable discussion with him, decided to purchase from the local medal shop his entitlement..”

Readers might like to refer to Annex F/Stat Dec signed by Ken Kingsley Arthur Swincer (now deceased) admitting liability for the procurement of such medals, in particular his statement “It was with good intent I have mistakenly chosen medals he is not entitled too (sic)..”  Interesting that Mr Swincer “advised four medals” after studying only the nomination for committee form (obsolete) and the unauthorised local paper profile (dismissed by National Tribunal findings) and NOT by direct contact with the proper channels.   Here is a person quite capable of retrieving information from the DVA Nominal Roll to determine my eligibility for the Australian Service Medal-Iraq, but apparently incapable of making a phone call to his mates at Victorian State Branch (Anzac House) to determine eligibility via the relevant defence agencies such as Defence Central Records-Canberra; information that was provided by Anzac House CEO Michael Annett in a written statement on 16 July 2007. (see Annex G).

Annex H clearly shows that the person responsible for ordering the medals was Mr Peter McPhee but ANZMI conveniently whited out McPhee’s name.

I have never worn medals nor am I interested in wearing them, and I have a witness statement verifying that I didn’t even know which side the medals went (see Annex I).

THE PROCURING OF THESE MEDALS HAD AS ITS ONLY SINISTER PURPOSE THE INTENTION OF GETTING ME BEFORE A RSL TRIBUNAL TO REMOVE ME FROM MY ELECTED COMMITTEE POSITION  FOR GOOD.  IT WAS A COMPLETE SET-UP.

Page 8  mentions that I was brought before an RSL State Tribunal but what it does not state is that this was a kangaroo court that was in contravention of its own rules (See Annex J).  It also mentions an appeal at National HQ but the findings of this tribunal (which threw out the second charges A & B) were never updated onto ANZMI website.   It also fails to mention that penalties at the state tribunal had already been worked out prior to the hearing (see Annex K/Stat dec by Peter Julian Low) which is totally illegal.

How did ANZMI criminals manage to get material about me to alter and forge on ANZMI?

The answer is from material submitted by me to RSL State Branch kangaroo court (an illegal tribunal consisting of some members previously told off by me for their unconstitutional behaviour against two members of my committee and myself.  For more information on this issue, please see Healesville page of this website).

Pages 8,9,10 mention other areas where I worked during my career and make statements that I never served in Bosnia (I never said I did) or that I never served in East Timor (I never said I did). I was, however, tasked to translate the Rules of Engagement into Arabic for the benefit of Egyptian and Jordanian troops working in support of Australian troops in East Timor, and that was the extent of my involvement/service.

I refute the allegations that I was never a diplomat- how can you give a diplomatic passport to someone if they are not on diplomatic duties? See Diplomatic Passport at Annex L.

My role with the UN was with training linguists who were to be deployed on UNSCOM duties. I was also asked to write reports or was consulted on certain issues regarding UNSCOM findings in Baghdad.  “Recommended to work with Richard Butler” does not mean that I actually worked with him, something which the ANZMI idiots do actually concede.

ANZMI  website displays a Minute from PG Newton re a supposed period of LWOP from 15 May 95 to 14 May 97.  This is at odds with documents already published at Annex B, which show that my time in the UK during this period was as a permanent salaried member/Defence posting.

So there you have it – you have now read the truth and have sighted all the authentic and official documents which support that truth.

The crux of the matter is, for some people it is very hard to accept that someone from an ethnic background can excel where they have not.

Did you know that whilst I was president of Healesville RSL I started the whole Reconciliation process with local elder Aunty Dot Peters, to honour the Aboriginal soldiers who served and died for Australia?

ANZMI AND RSL TOP BRASS SHOULD SAY THANK YOU TO ME FOR SOMETHING THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO DO IN OVER 100 YEARS.

THEY SHOULD PUBLICLY APOLOGISE INSTEAD OF DEFAMING AN OUTSTANDING VETERAN.

MY FINAL MESSAGE TO YOU ANZMI/RSL RACISTS (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)- YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE TO REDEEM YOUR ROTTEN SOULS, BEFORE FURTHER PUBLIC AND LEGAL ACTION IS TAKEN.
